Social accounts
For successful brand collaborations, providing direct access to your social media data is crucial. Authorizing access to this data can be beneficial as it increases professionalism, efficiency, and earning potential. Connecting your social accounts to Vibe can provide the following benefits:
1. Optimize your value proposition
Connecting your accounts instantly makes you more trustworthy as brands move beyond simple follower counts and gain accurate, verified performance data such as reach, impressions, and engagement rates straight from the platform. This transparency allows campaign managers to:
Identify your niche: Accurately match you with campaigns that align with your audience demographics and content strengths.
Justify investment: Empower brands to confidently dedicate larger budgets to creators who demonstrate measurable results and audience impact.
2. Achieve reporting efficiency
Authentication reduces the need for manual reporting by automating the delivery of campaign results, including complex data like Instagram stories. This seamless, automated data flow not only reduces your administrative overheads but also ensures partners receive everything they need promptly, making you easier to work with.
3. Cultivate trust and growth
Offering transparent access to metrics reassures clients that you are reliable and committed to data-backed results. Creators who deliver clean, automatic reporting are highly valued, leading to:
Stronger relationships: Solidifying trust with agencies and brands.
Future opportunities: Increasing your likelihood of securing repeat business and long-term retainer agreements.
Connect your Instagram account
Connecting your Instagram profile requires specific account settings to ensure successful data exchange for a campaign.
Before you begin:
Your Instagram profile must be a Creator or Business account.
Your Instagram account must be publicly linked to a Facebook page that you manage.
To authenticate your account, follow these steps:
Select Authenticate Instagram Account on your Connect Accounts page.
Review the prompt and select Continue to Facebook.
Sign in with your Facebook credentials (this is due to Instagram's integration).
Grant all requested permissions to allow read-only data access. All permissions must be enabled to connect successfully.
You’ll be redirected back and your Instagram profile will show as authenticated.
Connect your TikTok account
Connecting your TikTok account allows brands to automatically pull real-time metrics for collaborative posts.
To authenticate your account, follow these steps:
Select Authenticate TikTok Account.
Review the prompt and select Continue to TikTok.
Enter your login credentials and select Authorize.
You must accept all requested permissions to complete the connection successfully. The data collected is read-only.
You will be redirected back, and your TikTok profile will show as authenticated.
Privacy and security
We understand that sharing access to your social accounts is a serious decision. We prioritize the security and privacy of your data through strict guidelines on what information is accessed, how it is used, and the control you retain over your accounts. We optimize security in the following ways:
1. Data access is strictly limited
Your collaborating partners, brands, or agencies are given only minimal, content-specific access:
Read-only data flow: Data only travels from your social platform to the partner. Partners cannot send data to your account or make edits to, delete, or take action on your behalf unless specific ad permissions are granted.
Content-specific metrics: The data shared is limited to campaign-relevant metrics like engagements, likes, comments, video views, and reach on content you create for the collaboration.
No access to private data: Partners are expressly blocked from accessing your direct messages or engaging with any content such as following pages or liking posts under your name.
2. Creator control remains absolute
You maintain full authority over which accounts are connected and for how long:
Selective access: Even if your social profiles are cross-linked (for example, Facebook and Instagram), you choose exactly which profile to authenticate and share data from.
Revoke access anytime: You have full control to disconnect or unlink your account(s) at any point, whether that’s because you're finished with a campaign, are changing your connected profile, or simply wish to revoke permissions.
For complete details on your privacy rights and data usage, please refer to the comprehensive Privacy Policy.
Ad Permissions
Ad Permissions grant your brand partner limited access to your Facebook and Instagram accounts so they can run paid advertising campaigns using your handle.
To grant ad permissions, follow these steps:
Navigate to your Instagram content.
Select the three dots menu and navigate to Partnership label & ads.
Toggle Get partnership ad code to On.
Copy the ad code and paste it into the Tasks section of your campaign.
Authorize a video for Spark Ads
A Spark Ad is a native ad format where a brand pays to promote your organic video to new, targeted audiences using your handle. This requires you to generate a unique authorization code (or boost code) for the specific video. To authorize spark ads, follow these steps:
1. One-time setup to enable Ad Permissions
First, ensure your account is configured to allow ad usage by following these steps:
Go to your Profile in the TikTok app.
Select the three lines menu in the upper-right corner.
Select TIkTok Studio and then the gear icon.
Toggle Ad settings to ON.
2. Generate an authorization code
You must perform these steps for every specific video you want the brand to promote:
Open the video you want to authorize.
Tap the three dots menu (...) or Share button.
Scroll to the Options row and select Ad settings.
Toggle Allow advertisers to promote this video or Ad authorization to ON.
Select the desired authorization period (for example, 7, 30, 60, or 365 days).
Select Manage under Video Code to generate an ad code.
Select Copy Code and share this unique code with your campaign manager.
Affiliates
An affiliate program is a performance-based partnership where a brand rewards you, the content creator, with a commission for driving sales of their products to your audience.
The core concept is a simple cycle of promotion and reward:
Enrollment: You sign up for or are invited to a brand's specific affiliate program.
Unique code or link: You receive a unique affiliate link or coupon code assigned exclusively to you.
Promotion: You share the link or code within your content (for example in a video description, story swipe-up, or blog post).
Tracking: When a member of your audience selects your link or uses your code to make a purchase, the sale is recorded and attributed to you.
Validation: The brand initiates a validation period
Commission: After the validation period, you receive a commission based on the sales generated.
Payments
As a creator, you have full transparency into your financial activity through your dedicated payments ledger. You can access your ledger directly within the Creator Portal. Simply sign in to the Creator Portal using your unique link and navigate to the Payments section to view detailed records of all your earnings, deductions, and transaction history.
To set up your payment information, navigate to the Payments tab in the Creator Portal. You can then add your bank account details (for ACH) and submit any required tax forms (for example, a W-9 form if you are a US citizen).
For any payment related issues, contact your campaign manager.
Troubleshooting
Encountering errors when authenticating your social media accounts is common. The fix is usually platform-specific and relates to account settings or permissions.
| Error message | Common cause(s) | Solution(s) |
|---|---|---|
"Please verify that you are connecting to the correct FB page..." | 1. Your professional Business or Creator Instagram account is not properly linked to a public Facebook Page. 2. You signed in with the wrong Facebook account (one without Admin access to the linked Page). 3. Your Instagram profile is set to a Personal account type. | 1. Link the page: Connect or create a public Facebook Page through your Instagram's professional settings. 2. Check login: Ensure you sign in with the Facebook profile that has full Admin access to the linked page. 3. Switch account type: Change your Instagram profile to a Creator or Business account. |
"You did not allow all requested scopes." | You failed to accept all mandatory third-party permissions during the connection process. | Reset permissions and reconnect: 1. Go to Facebook Settings & Privacy > Settings > Business Integrations. 2. Find and remove the platform integration. 3. Return to your Connect Accounts page, disconnect the account, and try the authentication process again, ensuring all permissions are accepted. |
"Sorry, something went wrong." | A platform-specific or temporary technical issue. | Try again or contact support: 1. Close the authentication pop-up and try again. Use an incognito or private browser window. 2. If the issue persists, contact the Meta Business Support Team. |
"This Facebook account is not associated with any Facebook pages." (Facebook error) | You’re attempting to authenticate with a personal Facebook profile, not a public Facebook page. | Authentication requires a public-facing Facebook page. Create a page if you do not have one. |
TikTok
| Error message | Common cause(s) | Solution(s) |
|---|---|---|
| "That doesn't look like a valid username or profile link." | Your TikTok profile has audience controls enabled, making it invisible to third-party tools when you are signed out. | Adjust your TikTok audience control settings to ensure your profile is publicly visible. |
| "The account doesn't belong to your account." | You are signed in to multiple TikTok accounts within the mobile app while attempting to authenticate. | Option one (recommended): Use a desktop browser where you are not logged into any TikTok accounts. Option two: Sign out of all other TikTok profiles within the mobile app and try again. |
