Custom cover images

You can now choose custom cover images for video content in Galleries. There are two options for these custom cover images:
  1. Upload a custom image. This is for brand-owned content only, not user-generated content.

  2. Select a frame. This is for any brand-owned content, and user-generated content in Instagram and Facebook.

To upload a custom cover image for your Galleries content, follow these steps:

  1. Select the video whose cover image you want to edit.

  2. Select the Edit Cover Image button.

  3. Select the cover image for your video post by either dragging to the desired timestamp or uploading an image.

  1. Select the Confirm button.

Sizing

We recommend a 9:16 ratio for vertical layouts like Video Optimized. For layouts like Carousel, we recommend a 1:1 square sizing. Cover images must be smaller than 8MB.

FAQs

Why can't I upload a custom image for user-generated content videos?

This is intentional. The ability to upload a completely custom image is limited to brand-owned content to preserve the authenticity of user-generated content (UGC). Frame selection is offered for Instagram and Facebook UGC to improve visual quality while staying true to the original video.

What happens if I set different thumbnails for the same content across multiple social networks while scheduling?

An uploaded custom image will always be prioritized over a selected video frame. For example, if you upload a custom image for an Instagram post and select a frame for a TikTok post using the same video, the gallery will use the uploaded image from the Instagram post.

How do custom thumbnails work when I syndicate content to a retailer?

The custom thumbnail you set as the brand will be sent to the retailer along with the content.

Note: Once the content is successfully syndicated, the thumbnails are managed independently. Any changes you make to the thumbnail on the brand side will not affect the retailer's thumbnail, and vice-versa.

Will my new custom thumbnail appear everywhere, such as the main content library?

No. The custom thumbnail is only applied within Vibe galleries and their previews. It won't be reflected in the main content library view.
