Set up rights requesting

Set up rights requesting to request the rights to user-generated content (UGC) and use it across Bazaarvoice Vibe.

Where to start

1. In Vibe, select the gear symbol in the top-right corner.
2. Select the Rights Requests tab.

Bazaarvoice terms and conditions

Follow theses steps if you plan to use Bazaarvoice's hosted terms and conditions:

1. Select Set Up Messaging.
2. Select Setup Terms and Conditions.
3. If you agree to use the Bazaarvoice hosted terms and conditions page, select Save.

We recommend that your legal team reviews the Bazaarvoice hosted terms and conditions to make sure they cover your use cases.

Custom terms and conditions

1. Select Configure Messaging.
2. Select Setup Terms and Conditions.
3. Select Custom Link.
4. Enter your custom terms and conditions link into the URL field.
5. Select Save.

Configure rights request messaging

1. Select Configure Messaging.
2. Select Create Message Template.
3. In the Campaign Title field, enter a title for your campaign.
4. In the Request Message field, enter your rights request message by selecting the pencil symbol in the text field that appears. Rights request messages must be 300 characters or less, including spaces. 
   

   Tip: You can also select the Generate with AI button to create your message.
5. If your rights request message contains more than one hashtag, you must choose which hashtag to use as the approval hashtag. Select Approval Phrase and select the hashtag you want to use from the drop-down list.
6. Vibe should automatically detect the language of your message, or you can choose it from the drop-down list. The options to choose from are Chinese, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Swedish. The corresponding terms and conditions URL should automatically populate.
7. Select Add Message.
8. Repeat this process until you've added all the messages you want include in the campaign.

We recommend adding at least 5-10 messages to prevent your account from being flagged as spam by Instagram.

Tip: Rights request messages can now be sent in multiple languages.

Enable automatic rights requests

We will request the rights to UGC automatically when you've distributed it to Galleries or syndicated to the Visual Syndication Network. Before you can enable automatic rights requests, you must configure your terms and conditions settings and your rights request messaging.

Follow these steps to set up automatic rights requests:

1. Select Automate Rights Requests in the upper-right corner of the page.
2. Turn on the toggle labeled Enable automatic rights requests for brand-mentioned content.
3. Select the campaigns with the messages you want to cycle between. You must have at least four total rights request messages in the selected campaign(s).
4. Select Save.

We will not publish UGC to your Galleries or the Visual Syndication Network until you’ve received the rights. While you must have at least four rights request messages selected to enable automatic rights requests, we recommend 5-10 to reduce the risk of duplicated messages.

Set up automatic rights detection

Vibe can detect rights requests from outside sources. This includes comments made on Instagram by you or a third-party service. Requests must come from Instagram comments on posts where your account is mentioned or tagged. Direct message rights requests can’t be imported.

Note: Vibe can only detect rights requests after setup has been completed. Requests made beforehand will not be detected. 

Follow these steps to set up automatic rights detection in Vibe:

1. Talk to your Bazaarvoice representative or Vibe Support to determine if you're eligible to use this feature.
2. Make sure your Meta accounts are fully connected. Learn how to connect your Meta accounts.
3. Add your rights request messages from your outside sources to a new messaging campaign. Refer to the Configure rights request messaging section of this topic to learn how.

After you've completed this setup, UGC that you've received the rights to through Instagram or third-party services will be usable in Vibe. Learn how to manage and view rights requests.

Note: Content that you've received the rights to outside of Vibe can't be distributed to the Visual Syndication Network.
